Josef Hoffmann is a founding father of the Wiener Werkstaette / Vienna Succession, a community of artisans, artists and designers founded in Vienna, 1897. One of the most influential Austrian architects, Hoffmann was a close friend of Gustav Klimt. The friends used the triangle in their artworks, reinforcing their interest in its exotic origins in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica.
